Cape Town - They spent a decade working together, which has been a labour of love and passion.
Goliath and Goliath will celebrate its 10th anniversary this August.
To mark the occasion, the comedians will host performances across Cape Town later this month.
Kate Goliath and comedians Jason, Donovan and Nicholas Goliath have been one of the most formidable brands in South African comedy.
Their multi-award winning comedy and entertainment agency is renowned for their stand-up comedy and corporate entertainment offerings.
Nicholas said it still felt like a dream.
“I am extremely proud of what we’ve been able to achieve in the past 10 years and cannot wait to see what the future holds. For the most part, I’m just happy that we’ve been able to be part of the comedy industry.
He added the relationship between the founding four was “our biggest differentiator.”
“Second to that would be the fact that we do this not just for us or for profit, but for the love of comedy and laughter. It doesn’t always make business sense, but it makes us happy and it’s worked for 10 years so we must be doing something right,” he said.
The Goliath vision was to bring comedy to coloured audiences and they went on to develop Awednesday, a comedy show held on the last Wednesday of every month.
It was their first comedy production to grow a cult following. Soon after, at a car wash in Florida, Johannesburg, Goliath and Goliath was born.
Donovan and Nicholas met and spoke about working together on a formal basis. This led to Kate joining them as managing director as they needed someone to hold it together.
They all had a common goal and knew exactly what their roles were.
Jason said they were not only grateful to the comedians who helped them along the way but also the comedians, who they helped.
“It has been a fairytale roller coaster as it is difficult to define a favourite moment,” he said.
