Wouldn’t we all love to be able to fly business class? The bubbly, great food, extra legroom and just straight-up luxury treatment.
Well, Kfm breakfast show presenter Sibongile Mafu managed to score a free business class upgrade on her flight from Prague to South Africa at the end of her Euro tour.
Mafu has been documenting and sharing all the highlights of her solo trip as well as tips on how to travel.
In this video, she shares how she got bumped up to business class.
“Here’s what I did to get upgraded from economy class to business class on my recent Qatar flight for free,” Mafu says.
Even though she admits that she doesn’t know exactly how it happened, it was the second time it happened to her.
She does, however, go on to share some tips and why she thinks she got so lucky.
There are two things that she thinks may have influenced the decision. “The first thing is that I was always travel alone. Solo travelling has its perks.”
She explains that business class has a limited number of seats. So when there are excess seats you are most likely going to get upgraded to a business class seat.
“Second of all I looked pretty good at the airport,” she continues.
She shares that both times she got upgraded she was wearing a blazer and adds that she was really friendly as well.

Of course, she had to take a moment to share exactly what she got out of her business class experience.
For her it was all about the good food. She highlights that she had lobster, a delectable dessert and she even got to take home some chocolate treats.
“I just loved it!” she says.
