SOWETO police are looking for Nhlanhla Maputla and another suspect, as yet unknown, in connection with a house robbery in Oakdene, Joburg. Police said three men robbed a house on Tuesday and fled in the victim’s red Mini Cooper, which they loaded with clothing, a laptop and computer games.

Warrant Officer Kay Makhubela said a sector policing vehicle became suspicious of the Mini Cooper when they spotted it in Jabulani. They stopped the vehicle but the driver sped off. Once cornered, the suspects jumped out of the vehicle and the police made one arrest.

The 25-year-old suspect then took police officers to Maputla’s house, where his ID was discovered.

“A laptop and clothes suspected to have been stolen during the robbery were also found.”

Makhubela called on members of the public who could provide information on Maputla and the other suspect to do so.
