Esteemed American pastor and best-selling author Sarah Jakes Roberts has filled South Africans with pride after she donned MaXhosa wear in one of her sermons as she began her eagerly awaited ‘Activate’ tour in the country a few days ago.

Jakes Roberts explained that the garment was brought to her by MaXhosa after her luggage was stalled in Cape Town.

She thanked the brand as she posted her stunning appearance on Instagram, receiving endless praise from South Africans.

August marked the start of Jakes Roberts and her husband Pastor Toure Roberts’ tour, which included stops at the GrandWest Arena in Cape Town on August 1 and 2, the Rhema Bible Church in Randburg on August 2 and 3, and Sun City in the North West on August 4.

Taking to Instagram, she shared: “I’m so humbled by God’s presence; it shows up in ways that refresh and restore me in ways I could not have imagined. That he would clothe me with righteousness and partner with me despite all my shortcomings will forever blow my mind. I got to pursue God in a room full of my brothers and sisters in Johannesburg, and the mark left will echo for generations. Thank you so much, @maxhosa, for bringing me this beautiful dress after my luggage was stuck in Cape Town.”

The illustrious Bishop TD Jakes’s second-youngest child, Jakes Roberts, has been providing information on the visit, emphasising its goal of “activating” and celebrating women in South Africa.

“Today we officially kick off an exciting month of elevating, celebrating, appreciating, and activating the women of the great nation of South Africa.

“Woman – You are the capstone of creation and God’s strategy for the family, community, marketplace, and beyond. You have always been God’s cherished and often times secret weapon. We honour you, we love you, we lift you, and we declare that the absolute best of you, in you, for you and through, is yet to come.”

She also shared her experience in Johannesburg on Instagram and said: “Johannesburg, where do I begin? Last night, when I thought we could not experience more glory, God gave us an even greater glimpse.

“My heart is so full I can’t imagine how much deeper we'll go tonight. This is your sign to make your way to Rhema tonight. There is no way you’ll leave the same.”
