Johannesburg - Renowned music artist Refiloe Phoolo, fondly known as Cassper Nyovest, has expressed gratitude to all those who supported him in bringing to life his highly anticipated Fill Up concert at Mmabatho stadium in his hometown.

Scores of fans made their way to the stadium, where they anticipated seeing the likes of Nasty C, Anatii, Musa Keys, Makhadzi, OkMalumkoolkat, and Kwesta, among others, take the stage to deliver stellar performances.

The Bridge Entertainment event was hosted by social media sensations Carpo, Primo, and Pamela Mtanga and TV star Somizi, who introduced the main act.

The concert, which was hugely supported at the time, saw throngs of people gather to celebrate music and, more importantly, their very own star.

“The show had its challenges, and we are grateful to the supporters for their devotion and love. We are committed to bringing a much better show to the people of the North West next year, and we will ensure that the experience is without any glitches.

“We thank the sponsors and the various departments for their unwavering support, as well as our law enforcement officials for guaranteeing the safety of all attendees. Next year, we'll come back stronger and even more resourced,“ said the star.

Nyovest opened the show with a traditional Batswana ensemble before performing his popular hits. He also paid tribute to his fallen friends Riky Rick and DJ Sumbody.

Speaking about the concert before it happened, Nyovest said their ultimate goal was to bring excitement back to Mahikeng and also influence the music industry.

“While I am still who I am, I want to bring a certain vibe to Mafikeng, not only this weekend, but there are a lot of properties that we want to build incubators in my industry.

“This is a big moment for me; this stadium is a walk away from my grandmother's house, and I am coming back home to perform for my people. I cannot wait to put on an unforgettable show for the people of Bokone Bophirima. This is one for the books,” says Cassper Nyovest.

“There is no place like home; to be doing this show in my hometown is a dream come true, and to be doing this with some of the best artists in the game right now is even more exciting. Some of my favourite artists from Mahikeng are here and ready to perform. We are grateful for the support of our local community, and it's about to be a big show,” said the musician.
