Gmail summary cards will receive a refreshed design for purchases, events, bills, and travel emails, along with new action buttons such as adding an event to your Calendar, inviting others, or setting a reminder to pay a bill.
Summary cards are also becoming more powerful behind the scenes by organising essential information across all related emails and updating in real time, so you'll know when to expect deliveries.
Updates to summary cards
The updated summary cards in Gmail will appear in four common email categories:
– Purchases: Track packages, view order details, and easily find items you've bought.
– Events: Keep track of dinner reservations and concert tickets by adding upcoming events to your calendar.
– Bills: View and pay bills, or receive reminders to pay later, and add due dates in Google Tasks.
– Travel: Manage travel reservations, check in for flights, and view important travel details, such as hotel check-out times, so you can travel with confidence.
Summary cards in Gmail visually organise key information from all related emails, allowing you to:
– Get details quickly: Glanceable summaries highlight vital information, eliminating the need to search through multiple emails.
– Take action easily: Relevant actions like "Get directions," "Invite others," "Track package," "Check in," "Remind me," or "Mark as paid" are readily available.
– See the latest status: Stay updated on upcoming events, deliveries, and deadlines, even as they change.
According to Google, updated purchase summary cards are rolling out for individual emails on Android and iOS on Thursday, with event, bill, and travel summary cards to follow in the coming months.
