The new Apple iPhone 16 range will be available for purchase in South Africa, at the exact same time as the US market, iStore South Africa has revealed. They said that they will be offering consumers the opportunity to get their hands on the new iPhone while beating inflation.

According to iStore, consumers can beat inflation by taking advantage of the Contract Price Freeze.

With the Contract Price Freeze, iPhone users can upgrade to the latest iPhone 16 range while having their monthly contract price stay the same as their existing plan.

Consumers will be expected to trade-in their old iPhones to enable a payment freeze on their current contract price, or even pay less than what you have for the last two to three years.

For example, a consumer who was paying R699 per month for 36 months for an iPhone 13, could pay the same or similar amount for the new iPhone 16, depending on a range of factors including the condition of the device.

For the first time the iPhone range will be launched in South Africa on the days at the United States and various other major markets.

The iPhone 16 range will officially be available in a fortnight on September 20, 2024 while pre-orders will be September 13, 2024.

People can also get R22,000 in trade value for trading in their old devices, which they can use towards a new iPhone device or they can have the money deposited directly into their bank account.

Customers can trade-in up to five devices including Mac, iPad, iPhone, Apple Watch, PC or Android smartphones to further discount their new iPhone.

As part of their launch, iStore will be offering the iCare package valued at R1,999 for free with every iPhone purchase.

This also includes a guaranteed buy-back, ensuring that two years from now, iStore will buy back your iPhone for a minimum of 55% of its original value however trade in terms and conditions apply.

Included in the iCarePlus package is an extra year of warranty and screen repair.

“With the simultaneous launch of iPhone 16 and the innovative Contract Price Freeze, we’re ensuring that South African customers not only access the latest technology at the same time as the rest of the world but also at the same cost they've been used to,” Chris Dodd, the iStore SA chief executive said.

“This offer reflects our dedication to making cutting-edge technology accessible while offering unbeatable trade-in deals and future-proof upgrades”.
