Anywhere can be your runway if you love fashion and embrace your style.

Japanese tennis player Naomi Osaka returned to the US Open in style in New York, rocking stylish Nike sets.

The 26-year-old donned a black and white Nike tutu skirt and a leather jacket with a dramatic bow, designed by Yoon Ambush.

Osaka looked ravishing a green multi-layered dress with a white jacket for her second look.

Ambush explained that while Osaka’s outfits took two years to make, she didn’t mind because the tennis champion deserved it and so much more.

“Designing is an exercise of listening and imagining the story the athlete wants to tell. And this one is for @naomiosaka 's personal journey.

“Often, we see athletes as one-dimensional, tied to their sport, but I get to peel back those layers and explore the different facets of who they are and how they want to present themselves through style,” said Ambush.

She added that Osaka’s looks were inspired by her Japanese culture.

“Lolita fashion (Japanese subculture context) offers an escape from adulthood, a return to the innocence and beauty of childhood.

“It’s a doorway to a fantasy world where you can craft an ideal identity that may not fit everyday norms but feels perfect in this imaginative space,” explained the designer.

Both Osaka and her designer had to make a powerful statement about tennis fashion that it’s not just about flexibility but also about embracing style and showing people that “tennis clothes don’t have to just look like tennis clothes”.
