The television industry has been hard at work to bring viewers the best content when it comes to new seasons of popular shows.

Below are the shows that will be returning for new seasons:

“Adulting” S3 (Showmax)

The hit drama series, which centres around a group of varsity friends whose bromance has stood the test of time, is getting a brand new season.

The show stars award-winning heartthrob Thembinkosi Mthembu as Bonga, alongside Nhlanhla Kunene as Eric, Luthando BU Mthembu as Vuyani and Thabo Rammusi as Mpho.

While an official release date, plot details or new cast members have not been announced yet, Showmax took to social media this week to announce the new season.

“Only Murders in the Building” S5 (Disney +)

The hit Emmy-Award-winning comedy series has already been renewed for a fifth season, with season four premiering only last month.

Disney+ announced that the show’s upcoming offering will include 10 episodes. The release date and other details have not been announced yet.

The murder mystery series stars Selena Gomez, Steve Martin and Martin Short as three strangers who suddenly find themselves wrapped up in a true crime saga, one where a death occurs inside their Upper West Side apartment in New York City.

Meryl Streep, Eugene Levy, Zach Galifianakis, Eva Longoria, Richard Kind, Melissa McCarthy, Jane Lynch, Jesse Williams and Da'Vine Joy Randolph have also featured on the show.

“Youngins” S2 (Showmax)

The teen drama starring industry newcomer Ayakha Ntunja as a sweet and determined new student, Amo, will be getting a second season.

Showmax announced this but has yet to mention any more details.

The series also features Kealeboga Masango, Lebohang Lephatsoana and Toka Mtabane.

“Outer Banks” S4 (Netflix)

The Pogues’ treasure hunt is set to continue with the first part of season four dropping on October 10 and the next five episodes releasing on November 7.

It centres around John B (Chase Stokes) who enlists the help of friends Sarah (Madelyn Cline), JJ (Rudy Pankow), Kiara (Madison Bailey), Pope (Jonathan Daviss), and Cleo (Carlacia Grant), to hunt for a legendary treasure linked to his father's disappearance.

“Billions” star J. Anthony Crane as well as Pollyanna McIntosh, Brianna Brown, Rigo Sanchez and Mia Challis, will also be joining the series.

“Outlaws” S2 (Showmax)

The local streamer also announced that the renowned series will also be getting a new season, although they are yet to confirm cast and plot details as well as an official release date.

The series unpacks the rivalry between the Zulu Biyela clan, who are cattle farmers, and the Ts’eoles, who are Basotho and notorious for cattle-raiding.

It also stars Thembinkosi as Lehlohonolo Mayeza, Nirvana Nokwe-Mseleku, Siyabonga Shibe and Mmabatho Mogomotsi.

“Recipes for Love and Murder” S2 (M-Net, DStv channel 101)

A new offering of the renowned series will be released soon.

The South African show blends love, crime and a generous helping of Karoo hospitality as it fuses mystery and home-cooked meals.

It follows an advice columnist who dishes out recipes and serves up life lessons.

An exact release date for season two has not been announced yet.

“The Boys” S5 (Amazon Prime Video)

Even ahead of the season four finale of "The Boys“, it was confirmed that this would be the penultimate season of the satirical superhero series.

It has now been reported that the fifth season is in the early stages of development, although an official release date and other details about its latest offering have not been announced yet.

“The Boys” is based on the comic book series of the same name.It follows the eponymous team of vigilantes as they combat super-powered individuals (referred to as "Supes") who abuse their powers for personal gain and work for a powerful company (Vought International) that ensures the general public views them as heroes.

It stars Karl Urban, Jack Quaid, Antony Starr, Erin Moriarty, Dominique McElligott, and many others.
