MacG is back in the spotlight, but this time it’s not just for his podcasting drama.
The “Podcast and Chill” host is gearing up for something major - a book co-written with Nikolaos Kirkinis - in October.
Titled “Uncancelable: The Rise of MacG”, the book celebrates the milestones of Podcast and Chill, which has been stirring up the South African podcast scene since its launch in 2018.
It's been a rocky road for the outspoken host, who's faced backlash, cancellation threats, and sponsorship issues.
Just to name a few, MacG came under fire for comments made during an episode where discussions around women and sexual consent were deemed offensive and inappropriate.
In another episode, MacG was accused of making homophobic comments. This prompted more backlash and further intensified the scrutiny around the podcast. But despite all that, the podcast has thrived, boasting 1.39 million subscribers.
MacG, alongside co-hosts Sol Phenduka and Ghost Lady, keeps the conversations bold, often stirring up deeper discussions that push the envelope. With this book, MacG stays true to his fearless persona.
The title says it all, he’s not bowing down to cancel culture anytime soon.
The book aims to inspire broadcasters and podcasters by demonstrating how to stay resilient and determined when facing challenges.
Sharing his excitement on X (formerly Twitter), MacG wrote: “I finally wrote a book. As much as I was a little bit hesitant about this; I’m extremely excited to share this journey with all of you and I hope you all enjoy it️.”
