Actress and songstress Letoya Makhene celebrated turning 40 on Saturday, September 7.

In an Instagram post, Makhene posted a series of pictures with the caption: “Life really does begin at 40!!!”

In a follow-up post where she is seen at an occasion and stunningly dressed by House of Zambezi, she wrote: “This is to all of us that were called fakes (clinking glass emoji) 40 never felt this good!”

This comes after her soon-to-be ex-wife, Lebohang Keswa, made damning allegations against her in a recent tell-all interview with podcaster, Lungelo KM.

In the podcast, Keswa shared intricate details about the failed marriage.

During the interview, she did not hold back, sharing details about what she described as lies and betrayal that allegedly occurred during their marriage.

Among the most shocking claims, Keswa accused Makhene of sleeping with a Nigerian man in exchange for drugs and went on to allege that she is a “fake gobela,” questioning her authenticity and integrity as a traditional healer.

Followers have wished the former ‘Generations’ actress a beautiful 40th and also voiced their opinions with the endless public disputes.

Lee3_mach wrote: “You were a sangoma way before it could be in fashion. I know of young sangomas because of you. So I cannot believe that you can be a fake when you have held onto this for so long.

“You made ubungoma look classy. You are a force that's why you make others unsettled. Keep shining mama.”

Salamina Mosese wrote: “Stay the course my love. Many blessings to you.”

Masechaba Ndlovu wrote: “Skabahemisa (Don't let them breathe). Happy Birthday honey!”

Sebenzile Lindelwa Mabilisa wrote: “I love how you are just not giving them the same energy but healing your wounds and leaving your life. I can't wait for your song to heal us as well.”

Despite the drama, Makhene is now focused on her music and back to doing live performances after a long hiatus from the industry.

On July 11, she signed a record deal with Ntethe Global Effect, marking her comeback to the music scene.

In a series of interviews, she revealed that she was unable to work on music as much as she would have wanted to due to having a busy schedule but is confident that it is all now a thing of the past.

“Signing with Ntethe Global Effect is a dream come true. It is great to finally get back to doing what I was born to do and to be able to work with a team of professionals whose goals are aligned with mine,” said Makhene, in a statement.
