Grammy Award-winner, Nomcebo Zikode will fly the South African flag high as she sets off on her upcoming world tour.

Zikode, who delighted music-lovers with her vocals on songs as such the award-winning single, “Bayethe”, “Jerusalema” and “iNkanyezi”, recently visited the Democratic Republic of Congo where she performed as the headline act at the Festigola Festival.

Zikode’s next flight will see her jet off to the US, where she will headline the Glamour Music Awards after-party as well as perform live as part of her “Izono Zami” tour in September.

Following that, the songbird will tour Germany, Canada, Trinidad and Tobago.

Through a statement, the songstress said that she is mentally and physically preparing herself for what’s to come.

“I am very excited to be out there pushing my new music to the world ... I am currently in the gym, toning and increasing my stamina so that I can cope with what is to come,” said Zikode.

Travelling is nothing new for the internationally renowned musician, as she has been around the globe for many years to showcase her songs.

With this mind, the singer announced that she is broadening her horizons by collaborating with two other artists from the continent.

“I have an exciting release coming very soon, with one artist from West Africa, and the other from East Africa.

“This song excites me because it is a first-of-its-kind, in that you could never imagine who the collaborators are,” she said.

The “Ngiyesaba” hitmaker will be revealing who they are later this Women’s Month.

Speaking about women, the artist believes it is important to share positive outcomes as a black woman in a predominantly male dominated industry.

“We are all we have, and we should actually support each other.”

Zikode also uses Women's Month as a time to celebrate and disseminate positive messages.
