Travel, for me, is not always about hectic schedules, time constraints, and doing more. Very often, I prefer to unwind my mind, become more mindful and do less. To drink in the moment and actually accomplish more – more freedom, more peace, more solitude and more gratitude.

This week I’m sharing my recent journey to my favourite city in the world, London, which has just been named the best city on the planet.

Heritage brickwork and rooftop chimneys are so typical of Victorian architecture.
The tranquillity of St James’s Royal Park.
A fairy-tale view from the famous Blue Bridge in St James’s Park, facing Whitehall and the Horse Guards Parade area.
London’s Leicester Square is filled with souvenir shops.
One of London’s oldest and most popular pubs near Covent Garden.
The Royal Hospital Chelsea.
This red-coloured stone/brick is especially found in the plush area of Mayfair and Belgravia.
All the iconic symbols which make this city instantly recognisable: Big Ben, the Turrets of the Houses of Parliament, flying the British flag, a London red bus and the now disused pillar box red phone booths.
One of the highlights of my trip was the guided tour inside the palace, just magnificent and majestic.
