Online bidding starts on June 9 at 11am and will end on June 15, also at 11am. Among the dozens of diverse items on offer are pizza and other ovens; fridges and freezers; smokers; display equipment; ice cream and coffee machines; trolleys; rotisseries; fryers; restaurant tables; kitchen equipment and utensils.

With the Covid-10 pandemic still prohibiting live auctions, online sales are proving successful and practical, says Western Cape Auctions auctioneer Chris Baard.

“Some potential buyers still seem unfamiliar with online disposals but the process is very easy. For this auction, bidders should visit the bid.onlineauctions.africa platform, go to the Western Cape Auctions profile, and click on ‘login to bid’ for bidding or ‘view catalogue’ to view the lots.

They must provide personal login details or, if a new bidder, click on ‘register now’ and complete all relevant details.

“The bidder must pay in a R1 000 refundable deposit and email proof of payment, as well as proof of address and ID, to [email protected] to be approved to start bidding,” Baard says.

He says potential buyers can view the items from Monday on weekdays between 10am and 3pm at the Western Cape Auctions’s premises on Klein Joostenberg Farm, on Route R304 Klipheuwel-Stellenbosch, just off the N1 heading to Stellenbosch (opposite the truck weigh-bridge)

All goods will be sold “voetstoots” with buyer’s commission of 15% plus VAT payable for each transaction. Vendor bidding is allowed. For full details about the auction lots and bidding process, call Chris Baard at 060 675 5801 or Sherril Baard at 082 576 6447 or 021 884 4054.
