Whenlockdown is lifted and in-person prop- erty viewings resume, care will be needed to prevent the risk of sellers and buyers contracting Covid-19.

Before visits, owners should disinfect frequently touched surfaces and spaces that will be visited, says Mike Greeff, chief executive of Greeff Christie’s International Real Estate. Consider postponing visits if any family members are feeling ill.

“During the visit they (and viewers) should wear masks, maintain distance and avoid touching the same surfaces.”

Similarly, while plumbers or electricians work, adhere to social distancing and pay via EFT.

Once the visitor leaves, owners should disinfect their homes immediately, especially surfaces that might have been touched.

“Wash the clothing you and your family wore during this visit, as well as any towels or mats that would’ve been used or walked on,” Greeff says.
