The death of a 30-year-old Durban man who was reported missing last week has ignited sadness among people on social media.

Siba Olwethu Dlamini was found dead after his body washed onto shore at South Beach in Durban, on Saturday, a day after he went missing.

The information about his death has been shared on social media, Facebook, where most of the users shared their reactions expressing their sadness and shock.

Police have opened an inquest docket.

People on social media have reacted with sadness.

Sherifah Mohamed user commented, “Haibo this is soo heartbreaking 💔 😢. Condolences to his family. Yoh such a young life. I hve but one son only almost 40 years old. I pray to God every time to keep him safe Ameen.”

“I am incredibly sad to read this. I remember Siba so well from Northwood. Such a great young man. My sincere condolences to his family, my prayers are with you,” said Jenni Strydom.

“This could be a criminal or it could be suicide. You never know what someone is going through often the ones who smile and laugh the most are hiding the most pain.

“Leaving his belongings behind shows some form of premeditation,” said user Ange Harris.

Sashon Moodley also commented about his knowledge about the place where the deceased was found: “South Beach is the heart of criminal activity in Durban. You'd think you were in Lagos if you walked through there. Rest in peace.”
