JOHANNESBURG - Load shedding has been reduced to Stage one from 12 noon on Saturday until 11pm, embattled state-owned power utility Eskom said.
"Due to improvement in the generation system performance, coupled with low weekend demand, Eskom will implement stage one load shedding from 12:00 until 23:00. This is a reduction from stage two load shedding, which started at 07:00.
"Yesterday [Friday], we implemented stage three load shedding from 14:00 until 23:00," Eskom said in a statement.
Koeberg Unit One had been safely synchronised onto the grid, which had helped increase generation capacity and ease the scale of load shedding, Eskom said.
