A 51-year-old woman is expected to make her first appearance in court on Friday morning in connection with the murder of Moegamat Dollie.
The 22-year-old’s body was discovered on Munsuri Street, Missionvale on the morning of October 28, 2024.
The victim has sustained gunshot wounds to his head and neck.
She was arrested on Wednesday, November 6, 2024 by investigating officers from SAPS Algoa Park.
Eastern Cape police spokesperson Captain Sandra van Rensburg said the investigation is ongoing, and more arrests are on the horizon.
The motive for the shooting has been disclosed.
The woman is expected to appear in the New Brighton Magistrate’s Court on charges of murder.
There have been a spate of mass shootings in the Eastern Cape in recent weeks.
A total of 18 people were gunned down in Lusikisiki and a total of seven people have been arrested in connection with the murders.
Fifteen women and three men lost their lives in the two shooting incidents.
The alleged mastermind of the shooting is behind bars currently serving a sentence for murder.
Another accused is a murder parolee.
Police have not released the motive for the shootings.
All of the other accused remained behind bars as they opted to abandon their bail applications.
In another incident six community patrollers were gunned down in Qumbu.
