A man found dead after he went partying with friends the previous night

A 28-year-old man was found lying in a pool of blood on the side of the road in Waterloo, Durban, at the weekend.

This comes after the deceased was last seen partying with friends the previous night and was discovered dead the following day in the morning.

The KwaZulu-Natal police spokesperson Constable Thenjiswa Ngcobo confirmed that the police in Verulam are investigating a murder case.

“Police in Verulam are investigating a case of murder following an incident in which a 28-year-old man was allegedly found lying in a pool of blood on the side of the road in Waterloo on Saturday, September 8.

“The body had what appeared to be stab wounds. He was declared dead on the scene,“ said Ngcobo.

The Reaction Unit South Africa (Rusa) spokesperson, Prem Balram said upon their arrival at about 6.47am, they found the deceased barefooted in the a prone position.

“He sustained penetrating wounds to his head. A rock covered in blood was found next to his body.

The brother of the deceased informed Reaction Officers that his sibling was seen consuming alcohol and partying with friends in the area last night,“ said Balram.

The motive on the murder of the deceased is still unknown and the police are investigating.
