Here's vivid proof that even the professionals get it wrong sometimes, as a Jaguar test driver locks up the inside wheels of the specially-built 375kW XJ Supersport Nurburgring Taxi under braking and slides it straight in to the barriers.

Jaguar isn't saying who was driving at the time, who was with him or whether anybody was hurt - although that's unlikely, given that the 280km/h 'Ring Taxi - built to "safely take passengers on very hot laps" - has four individual bucket seats with racing harnesses and a very robust roll-cage.

What the Halewood Helldrivers can take pride in, however, is that, apart from some cosmetic damage and a wrecked front left rim, the supercharged five-litre V8 XJ Supersport apears to come out of a potentially nasty agricultural excursion almost unscathed.
