Hyundai America's design and technical centre in Irvine, California has created this one-off show car, based on the Veloster sports coupé, for the 2012 SEMA show in Las Vegas.
The Velocity concept retains the original Veloster silhouette, while pushing the envelope in factory-racer design language with huge, 19 x 9” HRE lightweight satin-charcoal racing rims, a tarmac-scraping body kit with generous front and rear brake cooling ducts, lift-reducing rear diffuser and an oversized rear wing.

THE GO TO MATCH THE SHOW
The 1.6-litre, direct-injection Veloster engine has been breathed on by Cosworth, including performance pistons, conrods, turbocharger, intercooler, intake manifold, fuel system and engine management, to the tune of more than 300kW and 475Nm.
The running gear matches that with Brembo four-piston brake callipers on two-piece discs, Bilstein springs with monotube dampers and Kumho Ecsta SPT 275/35 high-performance tyres.
The interior has also been tricked out with sparco racing harnesses, video GPS data acquisition, an integrated roll bar and Katzkin custom suede leather trim in black and red with red stitching.
