Essen Motor Show - Startech, which forms part of the Brabus Group, has given the new Range Rover Sport a sinister twist.

That said, it can't claim to be the most powerful Range Rover on the block as the tuners have only attacked the V6 turbodiesel version of the Sport.

The standard 3-litre turbodiesel has been remapped to bump its outputs up to 237kW and 680Nm, an increase of 22kW and 80Nm. This allows it to sprint from 0-100km/h in 6.9 seconds, complete with a brawnier sound track emanating from the Startech stainless-steel sports exhaust system.

The black beast asserts its presence on the road with an aerodynamic styling kit, which brings a bold new front bumper and rear diffuser among other enhancements.

Hugging the wheel arches are a set of 22-inch Startech Monostar alloy wheels.

It's a real road-hugger too, thanks to a Startech suspension module that allows the Range Rover Sport's air suspension system to sink the car a further 25mm when desired.

The interior of the Startech Sport allows a high level of individuality as clients can specify any desired colour, while also opting for exclusive trim sets made from carbon fibre or precious wood.
