Unless the wonky web springs a leak, we'll have to wait two weeks before we get to see the all-new Range Rover Sport for the first time.

However, Land Rover has been kind enough to treat us to a teaser image (and video) that shows us very little, although the fact that it's s a blur is rather fitting.

That's because Land Rover promises that it will be the company's "fastest, most responsive and agile vehicle to date."

The new Sport is set to be unveiled on the eve of the New York Auto Show on 26 March, where it will drive through the streets of its biggest market before going on display.

All we can make out from the teaser image is that the new Rangie will have a similar profile to the new Range Rover and that it'll offer the option of a two-tone paint finish with a contrasting roof colour.

No official word on what kind of mechanical machinery will make it so fast, but the engine range is unlikely to stray far from the line-up offered in the latest Range Rover.

This means Sport buyers can look forward to 375kW V8 and 250kW V6 petrol engines, both supercharged, and a 190kW/600Nm 3-litre V6 diesel.

As is the case with its aforementioned big brother, extensive use of aluminium components is expected to bring about a huge weight saving.
