Suzuki has thrown its “conservative quality” image right out of the window with this in-your-face, seriously sporty and very, very yellow concept, which is currently brightening up its stand at the Geneva motor show.

The S-Concept is based on the new-generation Swift, first seen at the 2010 Paris motor show, and Suzuki says it embodies the concept of creating a premium sports compact with uncompromised performance.

It runs a 1.6-litre, M16A engine (Suzuki doesn’t quote power or torque figures), driving the front wheels throagh a six-speed manual gearbox.

The body is lower and 60mm wider than that of the standard Swift giving it strong presence and making it look bigger than it actually is. Sporty-looking front and rear bumpers and a big rear spoiler evoke high levels of acceleration and power while 18” rims wrapped in 225/45 rubber suggest solidity and stability.

The headlight and tail light clusters were specially made for the show car with hi-tech accents.

The yellow, black, and dark-grey metallic colour scheme for the exterior and interior was inspired by an athlete's running shoes, and the special yellow paint has a high lustre that looks different from different angles

The steering wheel, seats, and instrument panel were specially made for the four-seat show car, with Recaro bucket seats in front and carbon-fibre trim on the centre console.
