Durban – Retailer Game reopened its store in the Pietermaritzburg CBD on Tuesday which had been damaged in the July unrest.
Game said ten of its stores were affected in the July unrest. It had decided to revamp some of its best-performing affected stores in line with its overall turnaround strategy – “Retail Reimagined”.
It said the revamped stores had been upgraded with a modernised look and feel, including an improved store layout, which includes an interactive wellness area and expanded categories including clothing, party, baby and best-selling adult and children’s books.
“As we continue to roll out our Retail Reimagined strategy, our aim is to transform and improve the overall customer experience. We are planning to revamp 68 stores this year of which 5 stores have now been completed and reopened. Earlier this year we reopened the store inside Jabulani Mall, in Soweto, as well as the Vosloorus stores in Gauteng,” said Andrew Stein, vice-president of Game.
Other stores that will open in KwaZulu-Natal this week include Game in Pinetown tomorrow and Game in Empangeni on Friday.
A R5 000 voucher will be awarded to the first customer to spend R500 or more in each store.
