Mzansi Supranationals soar on global pageant spaces as Bryoni Govender and Dr Fezile Mkhize win big

South Africans are on a winning streak on the world stage as Bryoni Govender was crowned Miss Supranational Africa 2024, while Dr Fezile Mkhize took the Mister Supranational 2024, becoming the first black man to win the beauty pageant in the world.

Govender also made South Africans proud as she made it to the top 12 of Miss Supranational 2024 and also won the award for Miss Friendship at the Miss Supranational pageant in Poland.

Govender, who was crowned Miss Supranational Africa 2024, thanked South Africans for their support throughout her journey.

“The outpouring of support from fellow South Africans was overwhelming. To everyone who has cheered me on, sent kind words or simply believed in my dream, thank you. It has been an incredible journey,” she said.

Govender went on to also congratulate Mkhize for winning Mister Supranational 2024 and for making South Africans proud.

Govender also congratulated Harashta Haifa Zahra of Indonesia who was crowned Miss Supranational 2024.

Stephanie Weil, the chief executive of Miss South Africa Organisation congratulated Govender for making South Africans proud.

“We are so incredibly proud of Byroni and how she represented us as an organisation and South Africa on a world stage.”

Meanwhile, Mkhize, who is a medical doctor and actor was announced as the winner on Thursday in Poland. Mkhize took the title over from Tylo Ribeiro.

The 27-year-old made history as he is the first South African and first black person to win the title of Mister Supranational.

He took to instagram to thank South Africans for their unwavering support with a caption: “My dearest South Africa, you are a home to amazing humans and so many walks of life.

“This is a nod to your beauty and diversity as I could not stand as tall without the lessons you’ve given me and the pride you have instilled in me.”

South Africans are proud of Miss Govender and Dr Mkhize for raising the South African flag high!
