Popularly known for his in-ring name and the bruising Batista Bomb he used to unleash on opponents, former WWE heavyweight champion Dave Bautista has shocked the internet after pictures of him looking a lot less muscular surfaced.

Pictures of the former WWE star recently made the rounds on social media, showing he had lost weight.

Bautista, who’s real name is David Michael Bautista Jr, is a retired wrestler who debuted his wrestling career in the 90s and is widely regarded as one of the greats because of his jaw-dropping wrestling stunts. He retired in 2019.

Bautista shocked the internet with his weight loss, leaving many concerned with his health.

On a podcast with Chris Van Vliet, he opened up about his weight loss journey and how it came about for him to lose weight.

“One I started trimming down because I got fat. I got really big for a role and it was uncomfortably big and I was like 350 pounds. I put on the weight really fast. But now looking back at it I probably overdid it, I was probably really too big,” said the former wrestler.

“But at the time I kept thinking, ‘I gotta get big’ and I put on an uncomfortable amount of weight and it took me forever to shed it off” he said.

The 55-year-old shared that the more he lost the weight, the better he felt, the better he looks on camera as well as how better he looks next to other actors as well.

The retired wrestler shared that he plans on losing more weight regardless of what people say online about him.

Social media users reacted to the weight loss transformation with some even worried about his health while some were saying that he lost weight due to ageing.

X user @Roseangel009 commented, “Oh! Bautista has lost muscle mass. It’s age related loss of muscle mass. The way he overstretched his muscles during his active days with WWE, it is not a cause for concern”.

Another X user, @tedgeoghegan commented, “Wait, people are actually ripping Bautista for dropping his muscle mass? He looks fantastic, and not weighing 320 lb is way healthier for him”.

X user @IllyBocean commented, “Tickled by the idea that Bautista slimming down is indicative of diminished health, as opposed to the things a 55-year-old would have to do to continue staying monstrously jacked as time goes on”.
