While the mornings are still a bit on the cold side, afternoons have become noticeably warmer.

This is a sure sign that spring is in the air.

Flowers are in bloom changing the landscapes to colourful carpets. The birds are out tweeting bringing nature's melodies.

What better way to enjoy the change in season than by heading outdoors for a leisurely picnic?

Here are some tips to help you plan the perfect spring picnic.

Location is key

Look for parks, gardens, or beaches that offer stunning views and plenty of open space.

If you have a big yard, that can work as well.

Consider places with shade for protection from the sun.

Ensure the location is easy to reach and has adequate parking.

If you have children, choose a location with activities like playgrounds or walking trails.

Pack the right food and drinks

Offer a mix of savoury and sweet options to cater to different tastes. Think sandwiches, salads, dips, and desserts.

Choose foods that are easy to transport and don't require extensive preparation. Finger foods are ideal. Don’t forget to add some fresh fruit.

Don’t forget the essentials

A waterproof and comfortable blanket is a must-have for sitting on the ground.

Create a relaxing ambience by bringing a portable speaker and playing your favourite tunes.

Plan some fun activities like playing cards or take along some board games.
