Over 80 international and local artists and DJ’s will perform across six themed stages at the Spring Fiesta in Boksburg.

As one of the most-anticipated music festivals of the year, the gathering will encompass several genres including house, hip hop, amapiano, deep house and AfroTech.

The main stage, which will be MC’d by Pearl Thusi and Zane Gulston, will feature the likes of DJ Shimza, Cassper Nyovest, Scorpion Kings, Mi Casa, DJ Kent, Nasty C, K.O, Prince KayBee, among many others.

On the Soul Candi Classics stage, those who will rock the decks include Clive Bean, Lulo Cafe, Mo Flava, Roger Goode and Kyle Worde.

Meanwhile, the UK’s Joe Lobel as well as Maglera Doe Boy, Speedsta, Ryan The DJ and Banques, will perform on the hip hop stage, which will be hosted by PH with LuthoHasBadManners as the MC.

Crackazat, also from the UK, as well as Germany’s Ralf Gum, Vinny Da Vinci and Buhle will be on the Stay True Sounds Stage. Da Capo hosts the Bakone Afrotech Stage where Mörda, Sun El Musician and French-Senegalese artist, Awen, will perform.

Finally, the Piano Dreamland Stage, hosted by Gazza, with Tumi Lemang will feature Thusi, Babalwa M, Zee Nxumalo and Sam Deep.

“Get ready to be blown away yet again as we officially kick off the festive season,” the organisers said.

“With an expected audience of over 20 000, this iconic day/night destination music experience is a celebration of all things entertainment: music, culture and togetherness.”

Foodies and wine enthusiasts are in for a treat at this year’s edition of the popular event.

“Taste your way through some of SA’s top wine producers and discover a world of award-winning wines and delicious food at the Pick n Pay Wine & Food Festival,” a statement read.

It will include wine tasting and pouring sessions, which will be guided by industry experts, as well as opportunities to buy your favourite bottles.

The festival will also feature an array of delicious meals, snacks and other beverages as well as live entertainment.

There is also a VIP Hospitality option where attendees can enjoy a luxurious and exclusive shaded seating area while they savour complimentary food and drinks service all day.

This Sunday, October 6, will kick off the first Maslow Sunday Society Picnics of the season.

“Be filled with the joys of spring as The Maslow’s Sunday Society picnics return on the first Sunday of every month from October,” the organisers said.

“Laze on a picnic blanket and bask in the sunshine on The Maslow Sandton’s lush lawns while tucking into a basket packed with tempting eats for you to share with a friend or loved one.”

A picnic basket for two costs R1 500 and includes a bottle of Graham Beck Cap Classique.

It will also include BBQ beef skewers, lamb koftas, pork belly, seafood paella and sticky soy or spicy peri-peri chicken wings. The hamper will also have cold items such as fresh fruit skewers, herbed cous-cous salad and a mini cheese board with an artisanal bread station nearby. For dessert, tuck into some baked cheesecake, chocolate brownies and Red Velvet Opera Cake.

There will also be live entertainment to enjoy while you sip, dine and relax.

Attendees are encouraged to dress to impress as each picnic is themed differently, with African Ankara being the dress code for Sunday.

Paws and Applause: The Third Annual Rescue Expo

The third annual Rescue Expo, organised by The Rescue Collective, promises to warm your heart, bring a smile to your face and inspire a deeper appreciation for the unsung heroes of the animal welfare world.

The event will host more than 50 animal rescue and rehab organisations.

The gathering also aligns with World Animal Week, a global movement which sheds light on the world of non-profit organisations that work to improve the lives of animals, from dogs and cats to donkeys, parrots and hamsters as well as garden birds, bats and other wildlife that share our urban forest.

“The Rescue Expo has something for everyone, whether you're a seasoned pet owner or simply an animal enthusiast,” a statement read.

And if you’re looking to expand your furry family, there will be puppies up for adoption.

Attendees can also enjoy a delicious range of food at the event such as burgers, pizza, spring rolls and samoosas, ice cream and even a chocolate fountain with strawberries for youngsters.

Attendees are urged to bring along a food donation for a charity of their choice. “It's a way to give back to the community while enjoying a day filled with furry, feathered and fluffy friends.”

Cost: The entry fee is R100 for four or R30 each and kids under 10 will get in for free.
