Kirstenbosch Summer Sunset Concert

The Kirstenbosch Summer Sunset Concerts is set to serve a relaxed, picnic-style event featuring performances by two legendary local artists, Ami Faku and Simmy.

Song-birds Ami Faku and Simmy are set to serenade attendees at the Kirstenbosch Summer Sunset Concert this weekend.

Known for her soulful voice and genre-bending sound, Faku blends elements of Afro-soul, jazz, and occasionally amapiano, to create a unique and captivating musical experience.

With hits like “Ubuhle Bakho” and “Inde Lendlela”, her music is the perfect accompaniment to a sunset picnic.

Meanwhile, singer-songwriter Simmy is celebrated for her powerful, soulful voice and infectious Afro-pop sound. With hits like “Ngiyesaba” and “Umahlalela”, Simmy's hits are guaranteed to get you moving and grooving.

Festival of Fire's Chilli Carnival

Get your tastebuds ready for a spicy kick! Festival of Fire's Chilli Carnival is bringing the heat with a day filled with spicy food, live music and thrilling challenges. 

This event is all about spice so if you have what it takes and want to test your limits, these chilli challenges are sure to set you on fire.

Here’s what to expect:

  • A League of Fire World Title Match will take place, where South Africa will compete against the USA in a chilli-eating showdown
  • The Chili Challenges, designed only for the bravest, will put your taste buds and tolerance to the test!
  • Challenge your taste buds with locally crafted artisanal hot sauce shots. 
  • Enjoy the Hot Chip Challenge by eating tortilla chips infused with a blend of super hot chilli powder.

There’ll also be food and drink stations where you can savour chili-infused dishes, craft cocktails, and refreshing drinks to cool down when the heat becomes too much. Discover unique goods at the artisanal chili-based market, perfect for finding one-of-a-kind treasures.

Bring the whole family to enjoy playful activities designed for young adventurers at the family friendly zones.

For live performances, groove to the sounds of an amazing lineup, featuring artists such as Freshlyground, Locnville, Dean Fuel, Faker Streets and Shake SA.
