Heralded as South Africa’s best dancers, The Survivors Crew has the opportunity to represent our country at the World of Dance Championship in Los Angeles on 26 July 2018.

The determined dance group hopes to showcase their skills but they are currently faced with a lack of funding for their international trip. The four member crew has to raise close to R200 000 for the squad to participate in the World Championships.

Local companies like the Slime Workshop, Plan B Dessertery and Four15 restaurant are rallying to support The Survivors Crew.

A Family Day will take place at Four15 restaurant on Mackeurtan Avenue in Durban North on 1 July 2018 from 12pm to 3pm. The Survivors Crew are set to perform and children can look forward to dancing, a free meal, free face painting and a slime challenge. Proceeds will be donated to the Survivors Crew.

Plan B Dessertery’s Founder, Michele Fourie said: “We love supporting people who have such great potential and we really hope that this determined group of young men are able to actualise their dreams”.

Mlondi Ndlovu, Khulekani Ndimande, Enver Moolla and Phiwah Zwane formed The Survivors Crew in April 2013. Enver Moolla said, “Our biggest challenge is getting sponsorships.  We really urge people to help us as we want to hold the South African flag high and represent our country. We want to show the world what South Africans are capable of. We are self-taught passionate friends who joined together to positively change our own lives through our shared love of dance.

“I work as a dance teacher on a full time basis and the other three crew members teach/work part time.  As Survivors, we strive to share our talents and knowledge to the youth and up and coming performers and dancers in Durban. We teach extramural dance and we also host dance workshops”.

World of Dance is the largest International Urban Dance Competition and focuses on the art of street dancing. The contest came to our screens by Executive Producer, Jennifer Lopez. Thousands of the world’s top dancers will participate in a performance festival setting, awarding the top dancers with the most prestigious acknowledgements.

The Family Fun Day at Four15 is free, to reserve your booking email  [email protected] or call 031 564 0415.
