Some of South Africa’s top comedians will have you laughing the stresses of the work-week away at Comedy at Canvas.Hot on the heels of his sold-out tour in Australia, Devin Gray, who is renowned for his high-energy crowd work and razor-sharp punchlines, will host the gathering.

Joining him on stage is a line-up of comedic talent, including Cape Town-born comedian Yaaseen Barnes, comedy veteran Melt Sieberhagen, rising Cape Town comedy star Laura Kelly and Callum Hitchcock.

Kurt Schoonraad will close off the evening’s proceedings.

Where: Brickfield Canvas in Woodstock.

When: Friday, April 4. Doors open at 6.30pm and the show starts at 7.30pm.

Galileo Open Air Cinema

Enjoy a night under the stars while watching classic movies this weekend at The Galileo Open Air Cinema.

Screenings will kick off on Friday, April 4, at the Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden when 2012’s “Brave” will be played.

This film tells the story of Princess Merida of DunBroch (voiced by Kelly Macdonald) who defies an age-old custom, causing chaos in the kingdom by expressing the desire not to be betrothed.

Meanwhile, romantic comedy lovers can see “P.S. I Love You”, starring Swank and Gerard Butler, at the Diemersfontein Wine Estate on Saturday, April 5. This movie chronicles a young widow discovering that her late husband left her messages intended to help ease her pain and for her to start a new life.

The Genadendal First Friday Market

This popular gathering is making its return to the Mother City this weekend promising an evening of fashion and jewellery shopping among others, delicious food and live music at the historical square.
