Whether you're a "Rocking the Daisies“ veteran or planning to pop your Daisies cherry, this four-day festival has something for everyone.

With the theme, “In the Stars”, this year’s event, which will be the 19th edition of the gathering which ranks in the global top 50 festivals, promises to be a memorable occasion.

It features a line-up of local and international artists as well as a fashion show and sports activities.

This weekend’s headline act will be Swedish singer and songwriter Snoh Aalegra, who is renowned for hits like “I Want You Around” and “Whoa”.

Chicago-based rapper Mick Jenkins, with his poetic and thought-provoking lyrics, will also be gracing the stage, as will Nigerian Afropop queen Ayra Starr.

Mzansi's finest will also be bringing the heat. Expect high-energy performances from Nasty C, Shekhinah and Sun El Musician.

Meanwhile, the new Flying Fish Beach Club is set to be the ultimate spring hangout spot, where you can soak up the sun, sip on some drinks and dance the day away.

If you are feeling competitive, swing by the SuperSportBet Sports Centre for a game of football or basketball.

Fashionistas are also in for a treat as Galxboy has collaborated with the festival to host its first-ever outdoor sunset fashion show. This spectacle will feature the top five designers from the 2024 Festival Fashion Talent Search.

The iconic Maybelline Station will also be making a return while Daisy Town, an artsy and inviting playground with installations, shopping stalls and creative spaces to explore between sets, will be a new feature.

So pack your sunglasses, wear your best festival outfit and put on your dancing shoes as the Mother City’s hottest festival is ready to rock your world.

The Hazendal Festival

This vibrant event seeks to unites artists, scientists and cultural practitioners to explore critical global issues.

This year's festival, the first-ever "Soil Edition," is curated by internationally renowned South African curator Khanyisile Mbongwa.

It will delve into the diverse meanings of soil across various cultures and disciplines, featuring experts from art, music, culture, fashion, theatre, dance and academia.

Originally created as a platform for creative minds, the Hazendal Festival has evolved into a cultural hotspot that merges arts, science, and food.

Attendees can engage in thoughtful conversations while enjoying the beauty of South Africa’s winelands.

This year’s focus on soil is particularly significant, guided by the Nguni proverb "Belele nje, Abathulanga" ("They may be asleep but they are not quiet"), prompting reflections on land, belonging and repair.

The weekend will showcase commissioned works, including a sculptural installation by Thania Petersen, a land and sound constellation by Sisonke Papu and an interventional procession by Sethembile Msezane.

The festival will also launch a limited edition MCC label by acclaimed artist Athi-Patra Ruga.

Building on its history of addressing global challenges through art, science and culture, the gathering creates a space for diverse voices to discuss important issues.

Attendees can also look forward to family picnics, gourmet food and wine pairings as well as various workshops.

The Franschhoek Classic Car Festival

More than 150 classic cars, including iconic models that span decades of automotive history, will be showcased at this popular gathering.

This includes the Alfa Romeo, which is known for its sleek design and rich racing heritage. It is set to take centre stage, giving fans a chance to admire these timeless vehicles up close.

The festival continues on Sunday, October 6, with the much-anticipated “Forty of the Finest” exhibit at the Huguenot Monument.

This is where a display of 40 pre-1995 classic cars from 40 different brands will be featured.

This signature event is a must-see for collectors and car enthusiasts, offering a rare opportunity to witness an eclectic mix of vintage automobiles, each with its own unique story.

Also on display will be an eye-catching Ford Mustang exhibition, alongside displays from prestigious car clubs, including the Rolls Royce group, which will showcase some of the finest vehicles from their collections.

Another highlight of the event will be the “Rivals Tour Parade”, where classic cars from rival European manufacturers, Alfa Romeo and Porsche, will cruise down Franschhoek’s main road.

This parade is a true celebration of automotive craftsmanship and competition, with the two legendary brands going head-to-head in a display of speed and style.
