Shortly before Mzansi Magic’s 'Date My Family' (DMF) aired on Sunday, DSTV announced on their official Twitter page that Mzansi’s favourite dating show is taking a break, making way for the annual talent search show ' Idols SA' and the news was received with mixed emotions.
Make sure you catch the last episode of #DateMyFamily tonight at 6pm on @Mzansimagic Ch161.

The season finale brought with it lots of tears, shock and even started a conversation about Albinism. On Sunday night's episode, we met Boitumelo Mainganya — aka Gaddafi — who's a poet, motivational speaker and dancer from Limpopo. Gaddafi said he was looking for someone to settle down and build an empire with.
Gaddafi immediately won the hearts of the viewers with his "confidence" and fashion sense.

After three meals with the potential dates' families, Gaddafi chose Kholo, but soon after their first date started, it was clear Gaddafi has been friend zoned, when Kolo said "Going forward I could definitely see a friendship, without a doubt".
Boitumelo is quite a likeable guy....easy to friend zone. #DateMyFamily
— Thembi (@Themb1) July 1, 2018 The streets of Twitterville also took a moment to appreciate the camera operators and 'driver bae', who makes the show even more interesting every week.
As we bid farewell to #DateMyFamily let's give a round of applause to the camera man for showing us shoes that tell a history. Does he perhaps have a shoe or foot fetish? pic.twitter.com/tfCOabnCJC

When all was said and done, model and entertainer Refilwe Modiselle and other Twitter users thought it fit to teach Mzansi a thing or two about "people with Albinism". One user wrote: "... it's not a race, it's a condition".
I just wish the #DateMyFamily producers/writers could have corrected this lady when they shot this or before it went to edit....she kept referring to "albino people" its not that please.... "it's people with albinism" it's a condition. "Albino" tends to have a stigma. 😕

Deep sigh ... I'm forever on a mission to educate people about this ...

It's not a race. It's a condition. I hope they heard sis. 😘

Viewers also shared their thoughts on 'Idols SA' replacing DMF, and many were unimpressed with the show's hiatus.
