The Duchess of Sussex, will carry out her first official engagement with the Queen this week.

Meghan, who honeymooned with hubby Prince Harry at a mystery location, will join the head of state in Cheshire on Thursday in what is being seen as a very public endorsement.

By contrast, the Duchess of Cambridge did not take on her first solo engagement with the monarch until ten months after her 2011 wedding to Prince William. For Meghan, Thursday’s royal ‘away-day’ will be her first full working day as a member of the royal family and an HRH.

She will watch the 92-year-old monarch officially open a toll bridge in Widnes followed by a walkabout in Chester. The Queen has carried out 125 official duties since January – a 25 per cent increase on the same period in 2017, says the blog Write Royalty.
