Independent artist Roiii and award-winning rapper Boity Thulo have joined forces to release “Oh My (OMG)!”, an explosive single promising to redefine the local hip hop landscape.

The track, which was released on Friday, October 4, sees the merging of Thulo’s prowess with Roiii’s trailblazing drill sound as it creates a unique sonic experience.

Co-produced by PLXYGRND and Roiii, their distinct styles also blend over a hard-hitting beat to bring music lovers a banging track.

They believe that this collaboration will mark a significant era in the local music scene as it showcases the evolution of the genre and the dynamic potential of cross-genre partnerships.

“After so many years of not dropping (music), I feel like a whole new artist and I’m so excited to be active again,” Thulo explained in a statement.

The “Wuz Dat?” hitmaker also believes that she and Roiii have brought out the best in each other on this record and that they have more plans in the pipeline.

“We both feel like underdogs right now carving our paths and this single represents the power of collaboration in pushing boundaries and creating something fresh and exciting.”

Meanwhile, Roiii is also thrilled to explore new creative avenues and to fully express his artistry as he marks a significant step in his career.

“Working with Boity has been incredible,” he added in the statement.

“We’ve combined our unique sounds to create something that reflects our journeys and resonates with our fans.”

As an independent artist now, he is also excited for everyone to hear the track.

In addition to this single release, the duo are also set to release their collaborative album next month.

Thulo, who is also a renowned television personality, actress, businesswoman and model, broke into the music industry in 2017 during the Migos Culture Tour in South Africa where she joined Nasty C as one of the opening acts.

A year later, she dropped her debut single "Wuz Dat?" featuring Nasty C.

In 2020, she released her EP “4436”, which included collaborations with the likes of the late Riky Rick. It was nominated for Best Hip Hop Album at the 27th South African Music Awards.
