On a recent episode of podcast and chill, MacG came to the defence of DJ Maphorisa who was recently accused of not giving Samthing Soweto credits for his vocals on “Amalanga Awafani”, a song they did alongside Mas Musiq.
DJ Maphorisa, whose real name is Themba Sekowe, found himself in hot water as social media users attacked for not crediting or giving Samthing Soweto credits to his song.
The angry DJ went live on Instagram to address the claims that Samthing Soweto was not being given credits to the song.
At 3am on Tuesday, Samthing Soweto, who’s real name is Samkelo Mdolomba, took to X to address the feud between him and Maphorisa.
On one of his several tweets, Samthing Soweto mentioned that prior to the song he did before, “Isphithiphithi” Samthing Soweto lied that Maphorisa contributed to producing the song.
He said that “I lied because I believed that it would help my album sell”.

The podcast and chill host shared his thoughts on the matter and supported Maphorisa.
“Here is a f*** legend, a goat. He has done amazing things but he has fell prey to trolls on social media and he gave them the energy that they want. He even said it in his live that you guys are always looking for our flaws. And he fed them the flaw.
“But I'm like dude you are so powerful, you are so big you just filled that New York event two weeks ago yet you succumb to that,” MacG said.
MacG and Maphorisa are known to not see eye to eye, in fact, it is claimed that MacG does not like Maphorisa. X users reacted to the podcast and chill host defending Maphorisa, as they were stunned by him showing the Amapiano DJ support.
