Mihlali Ndamase stirred up fresh controversy during an Instagram Live session by calling her ex-boyfriend, Leeroy Sidambe, ‘After 9’ - a homophobic slur.

Mihlali Ndamase, a prominent YouTuber and social media influencer, took to Instagram live on Sunday night where she referred to her ex-boyfriend, Leeroy Sidambe, as "After 9“.

This comment comes after their highly publicised fallout, which included allegations of physical assault.

Ndamase had previously accused Sidambe of assaulting her, sharing images of her bruised face on Instagram.

In response, Sidambe issued a statement denying the assault and claimed that Ndamase was under the influence of an unspecified substance at the time.

During her live session, Ndamase expressed her shock, responding to Leeroy's claims by saying: "Mr After 9, which substance am I on?" Her remarks implied that is he gay, adding further tension to the situation.

The relationship, plagued by public conflicts, appears to remain unresolved, with both sides continuing to exchange accusations.

The controversy has sparked widespread attention on social media, particularly on X (formerly known as Twitter), where many users have speculated about Leeroy's sexual orientation.

Some linked Sidambe’s close friendships with openly gay South African media personalities such as Somizi Mhlongo, to Ndamase's insinuations that he might be hiding something.

One user, @CFC_AFRIKA_, commented, "She is only seeing all this After 9 nonsense she is talking about now because y'all don't believe her shenanigans?", echoing sentiments that Mihlali may be trying to shift the narrative.

Another user, @ShwiiinoMtekhala, added, "She's bitter, but NOT LYING. I already knew this... his friends, LaSizwe, Somizi, Vusi Nova."

Others speculated that Mihlali’s comments were motivated by hurt and a desire to embarrass Leeroy.

@Digitalpen101 tweeted, "Mihlali is lying, and even if she is telling the truth, it goes both ways. You may be taking substances, and he may be whatever you are saying, but you are homophobic or coming across that way."

Many users criticised Mihlali for continuing the relationship despite knowing about the issues she is now publicising, further fuelling the online debate.

As the ongoing feud between the two unfolds, it's uncertain how either will handle the aftermath of their highly publicised split. For now, the drama remains a hot topic on social media, with opinions split on who is at fault.
