Hip-hop mega star Cassper Nyovest has found himself in hot water after his ex and his child’s mother, Thobeka Majozi aired that the musician cheated with his now wife, as their son battled cancer.

The news that left many tongues wagging has many netizens siding with Majozi, as Cassper has confirmed that everything she claimed was factual.

One X (Twitter) claimed that Cassper, whose real name is Refiloe Phoolo, was calculating and pre-emptive damage control: “When Cassper Nyovest went to the papers and admitted that he was a sex addict and that he hurt his baby mama, he was doing damage control. He knew one day she’ll speak. He’s evil.”

Another shone a light on the dynamics of parenthood under patriarchy. “This whole Cassper and Thobeka situation has fully displayed that parenthood for men is a part-time job,” they wrote.

Adding humour to the morose situation, Aphelele Tyelbooi posted that other known cheaters are disgusted by the rapper’s actions.

“I have nothing good to say about Cassper Nyovest. I wish him the worst,” an X user posted.

The timing of his infidelity is the biggest issue, said this netizen: “Reading bexx’s (Majozi’s) post again and understanding when she said it was not so much about the cheating than it was about the timing of it all. Their baby is fighting cancer and him choosing that moment to cheat of all things was the biggest betrayal. F*** Cassper and Pulane.”

A content creator on YouTube, SmallTownDidi, took a different route in her reaction and called out men who leave their partners when the going gets tough.

“Part of men’s self actualisation is the idea of this nuclear family where they are the head, the king and star of the show. Everything else is an accessory and (others) are the side characters to their story.

“You and I (women) are an accessory...We have the same of value to costume jewellery. Nobody wears their Mr Price jewellery once it tarnishes,” she said.

The creator added that: “There is such ease with which they discard of you when you no longer server your purpose... They want you as long as everything is just so. At the slightest inconvenience they will dip (leave).”
