As the FIFA World Cup draws, soccer fanatics across the globe are showing for support for their nation (and second or third favourites) ahead of the final knock-out games, and before Sunday's climax.

Many celebrities have also taken to social media to show support by donning team's official gear, or hitting back a few with mates in a local pub, but its the Brits who have put in extra effort to show support for their national team on social media.

The English national team bagged a World Cup trophy in 1966, and reached fourth place in 1990, held in Italy. Other than that, the team have reached the quarter-finals on nine occasions, the latest of which at the 2002 (South Korea/Japan), 2006 (Germany) and reaching the semi-finals in 2018, currently underway in Russia

Robbie Williams, who flipped haters the middle finger durng his performance at the World Cup opening ceremony in Moscow last month, gave England's team a thumbs up after they beat Sweden and advanced to the semi-finals.

The London-born supermodel Naomi Campbell displayed loyalties both her English and African heritage by posting pics in support of the English and Nigerian national teams.

British royal Prince William has also declared his unconditional support for the England squad on Twitter. His latest tweet came after England defeated Colombia on 3 July.
