Albie Sachs is a retired Constitutional Court judge and author of several books, the latest being The Strange Alchemy of Life and Law (Oxford, 2009).
I’m reading Innocent by Scott Turow. I love thrillers, especially intriguing ones that keep you guessing. Years ago, I read his Presumed Innocent.
This picks up the same characters, one now a judge. Will he be getting away with murder twice? Or is he innocent? As soon as I finish writing this, I will find out.
And I’ve dipped into Margie Orford’s Daddy’s Girl.
I never thought a book set in Cape Town could be a page-turner, but this one is, and I can’t wait to get fully immersed.
Thanks, Margie, for indigenising thrilling and intriguing escapist literature.
