Mrs Fry’s Diary

Mrs Stephen Fry

Hodder & Stoughton

A hysterical account of a year in the life of Stephen Fry’s (imaginary) devoted wife and mother to his many children, Edna, this book is chock full of the sharp wit and humour the author is famous for. Oblivious to his real occupation and life, Edna records the daily goings on in the Fry household including her husband’s gambling and karaoke addictions, the delinquent behaviour of their numerous offspring (including LaToya and Brangelina) and her book club evenings with Mrs Norton (either Graham’s mother or “wife” – I’m not sure). This book manages to simultaneously reflect who Stephen Fry is and who he isn’t in a manner that will have you chuckling from beginning to end. - James Retief
