(Marion Lloyd Books, R125.95)

Something sinister is brewing in Cawstocke, as all the town’s folk are plagued by violent nightmares, greatly affecting the natural order of things in the real world.

The children are forced to take on the roles and responsibilities of their parents and one such child is the seemingly ordinary Jamie Wave.

Through an extraordinary chain of events, Jamie – armed with a talking cat for a sidekick – has to travel back in time and around the globe, to collect magical stones to return his hometown back to normal.

The book is filled with action and suspense with a great emphasis being placed on using your mind, rather than your fists, to overcome a great foe.

The book is superbly written, filled with jokes and riddles that will leave you chuckling.

Although aimed at a young market, I believe it will appeal to readers of all ages.
