New York - Actress Anjelica Huston is writing a memoir that will detail her problematic relationship with her prolific filmmaker father, John Huston, as well as her former relationship with actor Jack Nicholson, Scribner books said on Tuesday.

The 59-year-old Huston will write the memoir herself and the as yet untitled book will be released in 2013 by Scribner in the United States and Simon & Schuster in Britain.

“My father once said that interest was the most important thing in the world, and he wasn't talking about money, but rather the infinite possibilities and choices and patterns we all have in life,” Huston said in a statement.

She added: “In this book, I want to look back at the landscapes that formed me - the exceptional highs and lows I have experienced.”

Huston will address growing up in Ireland under a distant relationship between her father, who acted in, wrote and directed numerous film classics including The African Queen, and her mother, ballerina Enrica Soma, who died in a car accident aged 39.

It will include her long-term, on-again off-again relationship with Jack Nicholson, with whom she co-starred in her father's film, Prizzi's Honor. Her best supporting actress Oscar for that film made her the first to win when a parent and grandparent, her grandfather Walter Huston, had also won.

The former model, who also starred in The Grifters and The Addams Family film, will detail her renowned family's legacy in film, including her own turn at directing, as well as her marriage to late artist Robert Graham. - Reuters
