Durban — An alleged drug dealer appeared in court on Friday after he was arrested cooking full moon crack cocaine.
Provincial Hawks spokesperson Captain Simphiwe Mhlongo said the Hawks from Port Shepstone Serious Organised Crime Investigation working together with Crime Intelligence and Durban Metro Police arrested a 42-year-old suspect on Thursday for dealing in drugs in Bellair, south-west of Durban.
Mhlongo said police had received information about a suspect who was dealing drugs in the area. An undercover operation was conducted and they proceeded to the said house.
“Upon arrival, the suspect was caught cooking full moon crack cocaine and a search was conducted,” Mhlongo said.
“During the search, police found more pieces of crack cocaine, gauze used to smoke cocaine, cocaine smoking pipes, cooking pots and other paraphernalia with a street value of approximately R10 000.”
Mhlongo said the man was arrested and charged with dealing drugs.
He was expected to appear in the Durban Magistrate’s Court on Friday.
Mhlongo said he could only share the outcome of the court appearance on Monday because the docket was still at court.
