SEEK refuge from the damp and blustery weather at the V&A Waterfront this winter. There is a full programme of entertainment and activities lined up to help ward off cabin fever.

From 12.30pm to 1.30pm on Wednesdays and Fridays until the end of July a variety of artists will perform on the Street Stage at the Pierhead Deck.

Take a musical lunch break with the likes of Dave Knowles, Wild Lettuce, Fruit Vendor, Nick Turner, Paige Mac, Dave Ferguson, Bronwen Clacherty and Gerald Clark.

Unwind on Friday evening at the Amphitheatre with free laid-back jazz concerts from June 19 at 6.30pm. Dress warmly, but don’t worry about the rain because there will be a Bedouin tent set up over the space. On the line-up are Gavin Minter Septet, Rukma Vimana, Allou April, Judith Sephuma, Top Dog, Kesivan and the Lights, Zoe Modiga and Lana Crowster.

Feel the spirit of Youth Day on June 16, as the V&A Waterfront brings you a tailored Youth Day performance from two up-and-coming youth bands. The Kiffness and The City will perform at the Amphitheatre from 4 to 7pm, with RJ and the Move as a supporting act.

Head to the Whisky Live Show Room and sample some of the finest local and international whiskies under the guidance of industry masters, there to introduce connoisseurs and newcomers alike to the warm art of whisky enjoyment. The showroom will be open from June 18 to 20 from 6pm to 10pm.

The home of African craft and design, the Watershed, has added a new event to their schedule – The Good Night Market, which takes place on the last Wednesday of every month from 6pm to 9pm. The next markets are scheduled for June 24, July 29 and August 26.

The Steelband Project Western Cape will perform at the Amphitheatre on June 25 from 10.30am to 3.30pm. And from June 27 to July 17, parents can take children to the Watershed Play Pad where there will be a petting zoo and a variety of shows and activities.
