YEEHA! A Country Legends Spectacular production will feature some top personalities in the country music scene. Acts to be featured are Lance James, Barbara Ray, and Tommy Dell, who have all been in the forefront of entertainment for decades in South Africa – and their popularity still remains intact.
Lance James, also known as “Big Daddy”, is something of a household name. This multi award-winner has notched up six Lifetime Achievement awards for contribution and dedication to the music industry. His Keep It Country program on radio has been running for more than 39 years, and is now broadcast on 16 stations here, and also worldwide.
Barbara Ray, also known as “The Queen of Country” in South Africa, has earned more than 22 gold records during her career, with numerous awards as well. Ray received a Lifetime Achievement Award from IFM Melodie Awards in 2014.
Tommy Dell, known as “The Killer”, represented South Africa in Nashville USA in the 1980s. He has gold and platinum albums to his name and is known for his vibrant stage act. He presently hosts the Breakfast Show on Helderberg 95.9 FM.
The trio, all big album sellers, regularly tour the country and they will present the best of country at Die Boer in Durbanville on September 3 at 8.30pm.
