Cape Town - The Kenilworth Racecourse looks forward to welcoming guests to the Cape Town Seafood and Jazz Racing Festival this Saturday. The event is the final one of the racing season.
Attendees can expect some of the finest seafood from food trucks in the seafood village, the best live jazz entertainment from local talents, entertainment for the little kids and, of course, high-adrenalin horse racing.
Some of the highlights of the races include the Jonsson Workwear grade 1 derby and the Khaya Stables Jockeys versus Work Riders Challenge, with plenty of chances to win with high stakes involved.
Jimmy Nevis will headline the event with excellent supporting acts from Nobuhle Ashanti Trio and Thandeka, and the Cameron Ward Band.
Cape Town Racing marketing director Donovan Everitt said his group was working hard to create different shows for the people that are synonymous with horse racing.
“Our aim is to bring people to the racecourse with a festive vibe, great food and fun entertainment, ensuring that everyone feels welcome to enjoy a day at the races.”
The event is an all-day event with gates opening at noon, culminating at 8pm. Tickets are available at Webtickets at R50 for adults and R25 for kids under 18. There are also family packages available. All entrants over 12 must be fully vaccinated.
